Parade of Hearts (POH) is a community-based initiative that illuminates a pathway in which people can envision a new normal and bring healing to communities using artistic expression. In response to the collective trauma of the COVID-19 pandemic and social justice tensions, community members and local artists from Chicago’s South Side united to create 12 fiberglass hearts centered around restorative justice. A project with a purpose, POH serves to empower predominantly minority communities, advance equity in the arts, and drive economic activity through tourism.
